An Interview with Todd Schieck
Co-Owner & Managing Director, M&N Aviation
Our special interview with TODD SCHIECK, Co-Owner & Managing Director of M&N Aviation, profiles the leader of the company delivering unparalleled luxury and premium travel experiences with a boutique private aviation service. Executive Global gets the inside scoop on what it takes to excel while providing the highest standards in the industry.
Executive Global: What are the most important considerations for private jet owners who wish to sell their aircraft, and why is it critical to work with experienced aviation consultants with an established track record?
Todd Schieck: Selling an aircraft comes down to preparation, timing, and understanding the real market—not just online asking prices. Maintenance status, records, upcoming inspections, presentation, and deal structure can materially affect value. An experienced aviation consultant knows how to position the aircraft, anticipate buyer concerns, and keep the transaction moving. A proven track record matters because owners need someone who has handled these details before, can identify issues early, and understands how to protect value through closing.
EG: What are some of the strategies M&N Aviation can help private jet owners deploy, in order to offset the costs of aircraft ownership?
TS: There are several ways to reduce the net cost of ownership, but the right approach depends on how the owner uses the aircraft. We can evaluate charter revenue, smarter scheduling, vendor agreements, maintenance planning, fuel programs, and closer oversight of operating expenses. The goal is to create meaningful savings without compromising the owner’s access, service expectations, privacy, or the aircraft’s long-term value.
EG: How do you deliver measurable value to aircraft charter clients in ways that sets you apart from competitors?
TS: We focus on the entire trip, not only the hourly rate. That means matching the client with the right aircraft, reviewing pricing and terms, managing logistics, and staying involved when plans change. The value comes from avoiding unnecessary costs, reducing delays, and making the process easier from start to finish. Clients also get an available, accountable team looking out for their interests on every flight.
EG: What are the ways in which your Certified Aviation Manager accreditation by the NBAA may provide additional value to clients?
TS: The Certified Aviation Manager accreditation reflects a broad understanding of safety, operations, maintenance, leadership, and financial management. For clients, that means decisions are made with the entire operation in mind, not from a single point of view. The accreditation also requires ongoing education, which matters in an industry where regulations, technology, and best practices continue to evolve. It provides clients added confidence that their aircraft is being managed thoughtfully and professionally.
EG: How did the expansion of M&N Aviation under your leadership deepen your understanding of challenges and opportunities with aircraft management?
TS: As the company grew, I saw how different every owner, aircraft, and mission can be. Growth brought more complex maintenance events, operating profiles, staffing needs, and financial decisions. It reinforced the importance of clear communication, strong systems, transparency, and consistent follow-through. It also showed me that good management is never one-size-fits-all. The best results come from building a program around the owner’s priorities while giving them clear information and dependable support.
EG: How may M&N Aviation’s Personalised Flight Programs maximise productivity and save time for wealthy clients?
TS: Our Personalised Flight Programs are built around how each client travels. We learn their preferences, common routes, scheduling needs, and service expectations so every trip requires less effort. By handling planning, coordination, and details in advance, we help clients stay productive and avoid the friction that often comes with travel. We can also anticipate recurring needs and respond faster when schedules shift. The goal is simple: make flying feel seamless and give clients more control over their time.
EG: What impact do you see artificial intelligence and automation having on the private aviation industry in the next decade?
TS: I think AI and automation will make private aviation more efficient in practical ways—from predictive maintenance and smarter scheduling to better trip planning, pricing, and customer service. These tools should help operators spot issues earlier, use data more effectively, and make faster, better-informed decisions. They may also simplify routine administrative work, giving teams more time to focus on safety and service. That said, this remains a relationship-driven business. Technology will be valuable, but trust, judgment, accountability, and personal service will continue to matter. At the end of the day, private aviation should make life easier, not more complicated. Our job at M&N Aviation is to simplify the process, protect our clients’ interests, and deliver dependable service they can count on. EG
